I just found out! I’ve moved to Number 1 on the popcharts for Louisville on Reverbnation!!!!!!

Thank you to everyone who has joined my email list and downloaded the free track “Magical People”!! IF you have not received this free gift yet, you can do so by clicking here and becoming a fan :D

I appreciate everyone who has become a part of what I am.  Divinity Rose as an artistic expression is not just me. It is made up of each and every person, circumstance and moment I come into contact with, for I have learned, loved, supported and been supported in this journey…and all of that adds to who I am.  I would not have been able to grow if it weren’t for the love, support, trials and lessons offered by each of you.

In other news, Sub Rosa: The Gypsie Courtyard, the wild variety show with open mic that I host, has a new website! www.subrosacourtyard.com

I also want to thank everyone who visits my website to stay up to date with my shows, my blog, videos, etc. I know a lot of you are dreamers on your own journey.  My website has given me the opportunity to have a central point of sharing information, providing gifts to visitors, and allowing people to find me later.  I built it myself.

If you need a website, I invite you to check out my webhost..they are the best for the buck that I’ve found. I’ve dealt with some nightmarish hosts before, but I’ve been happy with Siteground for 5 years now. None of my websites have ever gone down, and any issues/questions  have been resolved quickly by their customer service.  They’re currently offering hosting for as little as $3.95 per month and have an amazing array of tools and tutorials to help you build your own site like I did.

I’ve recently been faced with some interesting trials and have learned quite a bit from them. Last newsletter I posted about tremors and rumblings shaking me up, and now I find myself in the aftermath quiet.  I remember sermons as a child where the pastor spoke about the voice of God not being in the hurricane or disaster but in the still afterwards.  IT is in the still that we can look back and see everything that’s been laid out.  It is in the quiet that we can hear the whispers of our hearts. Looking back, I can see where I’ve been asked to realize that love is not always being nice to someone. Love is not about letting people out of their responsibilities.  Love is not suffering repeatedly because you’re too “nice” to hold people to their agreements, obligations or responsibilities that they have taken on.  If someone is making a mistake over and over and over, and you just let them continue to do so because you “love”  them too much to point it out..is that love? If you are in a partnership with someone, and they let you down, or act in unhealthy ways towards you..should you continue to let them? IS that love?? Are you stunting their ability to grow by enabling them? Sometimes love is letting go.

I’ve come to the conclusion that as an individual, you are here to be you. It is your duty and your right to evolve, grow and become the best refined you that you can become . Allowing others to impede that or hold you back from that or even discourage you from that does not exhibit love for you or your reason for living. TRUE love begins with caring for yourself..in doing so, you will be able to embrace others in doing the same. While love sometimes makes sacrifice, love is not sacrifice. There is a difference between love and need.

These are some of the things pressing on my mind right now. I hope that you are all moving forward in your own growth, taking some time in the still aftermath  of your own quakes, and hearing the new whispers arising from your heart.

A Mighty Kindness and other good news!

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

Hola!

I’ve really been on the go the last couple weeks, and I’ve got some great news to relay.

I’ve really been blessed in the last few weeks with PROGRESS.

I’ve been quietly paying attention to what I see unfolding in my own life and all around me….That’s how dreams work, you know. They percolate within us and then begin to flow forth once we give them the freedom to do so.

What is that I see?  A beautiful dream -

1) In our city….

I see a beautiful dream  unfolding in Louisville – I meet so many amazing people with such beautiful individual dreams that this past weekend was even more powerful as I met with many in one place who are willing to embrace and support each other.  It is so good to see more people realizing the importance of celebrating and supporting local business and creating a strong community.  It is so important to be a part of a strong community that can sustain itself.  Are you a part of  Mighty Kindness?

Check out this short video to get a feel of what a beautiful day it was:

And in case you didn’t know, May 15th has been declared “Bike to Work Day”

2) In the lives of my friends:

My friend, Jason, got his insurance and is branching out more and more with his own roofing business! Congratulations! Also, major props and a Happy Birthday to my friend Mike Wright, who has  completed his first experimental short film, Transcendence. I was honored to perform in it (and so was Cody!)

Check it out:

3) In my own life – After a year of hosting The Speak Easy, I’ve changed the name to Sub Rosa: The Gypsie Courtyard. In commemoration of the old name, we gave out almost 100 Makers Mark mason jars etched with the words “Speak Easy Social”. The kick off at our new venue, Diamonds Pub and Billiards, was a huge success. You can read more about it and see a video of some of the acts at the Sub Rosa blog, where I also post and pass along Louisville arts and entertainment news/opportunities. Everyone had a great time, and the acts that turned out were all amazing. An array of comedy, magic, music, poetry and even the Great Baldini showed up to hammer nails into his face.

Check out this small sampling of the featured poet, Danny O Day, and featured music group, Serpent Wisdom ! Everyone also enjoyed the featured movie, Fangs for the Memories.

Rv Update: I got the brake pads replaced on the RV – HOORAY! It still needs some more brakework done, but it is mobile again. I’m almost ready to begin accepting sponsorships.

So, what’s been up with you? What evidence have you seen that your dream is unfolding all around you? What kind of dream are you allowing to billow forth from the very core of your heart? Please leave me a comment and let me know what evidence you’ve found (no matter how small)… Then cling to that evidence and plow ever forward!

Please and Thank you

If you don’t know, I host a weekly open mic and get together called the Louisville Speak Easy. It’s amazing to see so many beautiful magical people come together, open their hearts, support each other and have a blast doing it. The last few weeks, I got people to give me requests for things they wanted in their lives so that we could all collectively support each other in our requests. There’s many things we need or want and it’s perfectly okay to want them. The funny thing is that we often fail to just ask…A simple “could you please” can work wonders.

I changed it up this last week. At the event, I hold a drawing for the “Blind Pig”. The winner gets five drinks for a dollar each. Last week, the city of Louisville was pretty much shut down from a snow and ice storm, and despite risking getting stuck to park, the room was packed with people looking for power – both electrical and emotional.. I spontaneously changed the rules of entry for the drawing. After seeing the results, I decided to keep the tradition.

To enter now, you have to write your name and something you’re grateful for on a piece of paper and throw it into the “plateful of grateful”, where a candle burns in honor of our joined gratitude. The candle managed to melt all over a lot of the pieces by the end of the night, long after the drawing had taken place. At 2 am, as I put furniture back in its place and cleared dirty plates, I came to the mess the candle had made. I began to dig through the wax, and found myself enjoying what everyone had contributed. It was like a treasure hunt, digging and scraping the wax from each sheet as I excitedly read them. So, I saved them and wanted to share them with you:

List of gratitude from magical people:

Poetry and Friends; Beautiful magical people appearing in my life; my friend Rebecca;sprite; this breath; beautiful women; chuck taylors; each person I’m lucky enough to know; friends and family;that there is a warm place to enjoy live music on this cold wretched night; for Carly Rae’s; Opiates; friends to share the warmth; for Melanie; for the Speak Easy; for beer; my 5 senses, can’t be more epic than that; for patience; F.P. Wazney; for my life; the ancient egyptians for booze, Ben Franklin for electricity, and Al Gore for the internet; Heat; still having heat, electricity, and great neighbors when others do not;for Aminor and Biscuits; for snow days and free booze; for the friends I have met so far;

And one that was a wisdom: “Even throughout disaster, there is beauty in the chaos ( Look outside at the icycles..f**cking gorgeous)”.

I’d like all of us to remember the beauty of please and thank you this year so we may observe just how magical those words are.
