Divinity Rising: All Part of the Show -

This is my love letter to you. I know it’s not much, but I don’t have much else to give you. My words are the couriers of my soul, and my soul is really all I have to give.  I don’t have riches or jewels purchased from high gloss window displays. A lot of my clothes are tattered, and my existence currently a little scattered as I hop around from place to place trying to be there for you as you’ve been there for me. It may not seem like much…I mean a soul is invisible after all…but I hope it will do. It is the one gift I can give and never run out of…andso I will continue to share it as long as you will let me.

March 11 – Divinity Rose will be releasing a new dance version of Calling All the Magical People at the Rudyard Kipling during an event there…get a sneak peek of the parade performance. Stay tuned for details.

March 12: Divinity Rose will be calling all the magical people in this year’s St. Patrick’s Day parade!

Last year around 30,000 came out to enjoy the awesome parade that had over 120 floats/units.  This year Divinity Rose will be joined by a crew of magical people like the beautiful Va Va Vixens as she performs a new dance version of “Calling All the Magical People” and brings the enchanted forest to the streets of Bardstown Rd, blurring the… line where dreams and reality meet.   Divinity Rose calls all creatures of the imagination to step through the mists and gather on the streets of Bardstown Road to make some noise to remind others that we are here and that IMAGINATION is alive and well and ready to thrive in a world that needs creative help.  Bring the whole family and throw down like only the Fae and creatures of the subconscious know how!  We invite you to come in costume! Faerie, Unicorn, troll, goblins, angels, etc, UNITE! Come to the parade and join with other magical people as we rally together to make some noise, make our presence known, and open the floodgates of BELIEF that we can live out loud and make dreams into reality. Also, join us after wards for our magical after party – location TBD.  If you want to be in the parade and walk with the magical people, let us know!  It’s time for inhabitants of different worlds to meet and mingle once more.

The last week has been ripe with reminders. When we are ready for a change or to play on  a new level, the universe sometimes responds a little quicker than we are ready for!  Things are yanked right from under our feet and if we allow ourselves to get too spooked or freaked out while mid-air, we don’t even realize there is a much softer mattress waiting for us to land on!

I don’t really have a full newsletter ready, but I did want to pop in and share the awesome news! I have been asked to emcee and perform at VA VA VINTAGE in November. The Va Va Vixens are Louisville’s very own Burlesque troop and run one of the hottest shows in town. Dance numbers, swings, aerial silks, contortionists and more! I will open the show, perform throughout it, and close it with the curtain call – all with my own original material and songs! These shows always sell out, so don’t miss it!

I appreciate everyone who has become a part of what I am.  Divinity Rose as an artistic expression is not just me. It is made up of each and every person, circumstance and moment I come into contact with, for I have learned, loved, supported and been supported in this journey…and all of that adds to who I am.  I would not have been able to grow if it weren’t for the love, support, trials and lessons offered by each of you.

I also want to thank everyone who visits my website to stay up to date with my shows, my blog, videos, etc. I know a lot of you are dreamers on your own journey.  My website has given me the opportunity to have a central point of sharing information, providing gifts to visitors, and allowing people to find me later.  I built it myself.

If you need a website, I invite you to check out my webhost..they are the best for the buck that I’ve found. I’ve dealt with some nightmarish hosts before, but I’ve been happy with Siteground for 5 years now. None of my websites have ever gone down, and any issues/questions  have been resolved quickly by their customer service.  They’re currently offering hosting for as little as $3.95 per month and have an amazing array of tools and tutorials to help you build your own site like I did.

I’ve recently been faced with some interesting trials and have learned quite a bit from them. Last newsletter I posted about tremors and rumblings shaking me up, and now I find myself in the aftermath quiet.  I remember sermons as a child where the pastor spoke about the voice of God not being in the hurricane or disaster but in the still afterwards.  IT is in the still that we can look back and see everything that’s been laid out.  It is in the quiet that we can hear the whispers of our hearts. Looking back, I can see where I’ve been asked to realize that love is not always being nice to someone. Love is not about letting people out of their responsibilities.  Love is not suffering repeatedly because you’re too “nice” to hold people to their agreements, obligations or responsibilities that they have taken on.  If someone is making a mistake over and over and over, and you just let them continue to do so because you “love”  them too much to point it out..is that love? If you are in a partnership with someone, and they let you down, or act in unhealthy ways towards you..should you continue to let them? IS that love?? Are you stunting their ability to grow by enabling them? Sometimes love is letting go.

I’ve come to the conclusion that as an individual, you are here to be you. It is your duty and your right to evolve, grow and become the best refined you that you can become . Allowing others to impede that or hold you back from that or even discourage you from that does not exhibit love for you or your reason for living. TRUE love begins with caring for yourself..in doing so, you will be able to embrace others in doing the same. While love sometimes makes sacrifice, love is not sacrifice. There is a difference between love and need.

These are some of the things pressing on my mind right now. I hope that you are all moving forward in your own growth, taking some time in the still aftermath  of your own quakes, and hearing the new whispers arising from your heart.

Divinity

This past weekend, we began filming “Dead World”, a short film I wrote,  set to music engineered by myself and Matthew Blake Wallace.

This video is a pretty big deal for me, as it has allowed me to go back through time to uproot a painful memory. We all suffer pain through our lives and if we fail to release our attachment to the pain or the source of the pain, it can sometimes take over and rule our worlds. We must stay ever diligent in our ability to be aware of the world we are creating around us and aware of what we allow into it.

I hope to inspire others to take the quest to find and uproot the evil rulers that lurk in the shadows of their mind, keeping them from being righteous rulers of vibrant worlds that bring them every dream and pleasure.  Don’t forget, you’re never alone and along the way, you will always be given what you need and will find others who are happy to help.

I got to watch the raw footage last night and I am so stoked! I can’t wait to share this latest creation with you!! We are releasing it June 26 at Diamond Pub and Billiards in Louisville, Ky with a huge zombie round up celebration   Round up as many zombies as you can and bring ‘em on in!

The Space Pirate Invasion on Louisville is well underway. The Space Pirates have been looking for treasure all over Louisville and inviting others to do the same…

Maybe you’ve seen them in the current Leo, the Courier Journal’s photo gallery or even around town…but Space Pirates have infiltrated the Louisville community and are inviting others to find the treasure buried under all the derby Hype.

Pick up a treasure map from Ear X Tacy, The Great Escape, Spinelli’s, Caufields, Wild and Wooley Video or an array of other locally owned businesses. Seek out the unique treasures that make Louisville a wonderfully diverse place. Participating in the treasure hunt grants you access to The Space Pirate Disco’s at Diamond Pub and Billiards on Derby Night or at Ear X Tacy May 2 from 4 – 6 pm and makes you eligible for a nice variety of awesome prizes from local artists, musicians and businesses, including the Grand Prize: an overnight stay at the beautiful and historic Inn at Woodhaven.

Hey everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve been able to post a newsletter, but it’s for good cause! I’ve been busy preparing a space pirate invasion!

Now that my first book has been released, I’ll be renovating DivinityRose.com and the site for the book to better invite you into my world.  Get ready for exciting new videos,   photo shoots,   live performances and appearances.

I’ll be rising from the ink along with my first Mate Chris-Rachel Oseland of Palmyran Rebels as space pirates to invade anywhere there’s fun to be had!  X marks the spot Derby Night when I’ll be making a pop debut with my space pirate dancers. Other awesome entertianment that night includes Revenge of Ricky Williams and Chappo! Tons of prizes, too!

Seeing an idea through to creation is an amazing process. I’ve learned so much over the last few years about bringing ideas to life and the amount of time involved in doing so.  I’m pleased to announce that Diaries of a Godling: The Promise has been released. Next, I will be working to get it into stores for purchase. It is currently available at The Great Escape, but also at www.diariesofagodling.com

I released it at a book signing in Louisville, Kentucky on March 14 from 12:34 – 2:34, and it was an awesome event. We celebrated that night with a fantastic show, Poets, Prophets and Punks! Everyone at the show did a wonderful job, the turnout was great,  and I know that I am extremely blessed and honored…

This summer looks like it is going to be really exciting! I have some super cool shows coming up as I move forward with more of my music/performance art. I have been asked to perform at Fright Night Film Festival at the end of July. I am looking forward to that with so much enthusiasm!! It’s my first convention! Before that, the big deal is the Space Pirate Disco we’re producing on Derby day, which is also Global Love Day!! (May 1).  Not only do I get to be a space pirate captain at this show, I get to go out to several Derby Events (thunder over Louisville, Balloon Glow,  and the Pegasus Parade) as a Space Pirate captain, leading the space pirate crew to invite others to look for local “treasures” while supporting LOCAL businesses and artists.

As I move forward with my performance art, I’m on an interesting quest to stay in shape physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. When we knock down boundaries, we begin to lose our shape. To choose a new shape, we have to set new boundaries. That’s not always fun, but what is necessary to be a strong entity.

I hope to be in  pretty good shape by may 22.  That’s when we’re shooting my next music video and it’s  a zombie video!  It’s the one year anniversary since we made the zombies and cowgirls video.  If you’d like to be a zombie, let me know! ;D We’re shooting in the beautiful landscape of Kentucky wilderness somewhere between E-town and Leitchfield.

Tickets are almost gone for Poets, Prophets, and Punks, and   I’m really busy getting ready for the release of Diaries of a Godling on Sunday, but I wanted to pop in and share something.

A lot of people ask me, “How come things just seem to work for you?”

Aside from a lot of hard work, the answer is Service.

What a wonderful reminder I received from an absolute angel wearing the face of an old man at the post office the other day.

Tall, probably in his seventies, but quite cheerful and very much alive.

He was smiling and chatting as he let the woman with an armful of packages go in front of him. Then he waved me in front of him.

At first I thought he worked there, but then realized he didn’t.

“Are you in line?”

“Yes, but I don’t have anything goin’ on. Looks like you have plenty going on,” he replied as he eyed my handful of things to mail.

I told him that was awfully sweet of him. His reply was so wonderful I had to share it with all of you.

“Well, I like to serve others when I can..and you know what kind of service I get from God?  10 second service.”

I try to convey that message every time I speak to a group or in answer to those who ask me about the victories I find.  When you make those around you a priority, they in turn make you a priority.

I challenge each of you to try this for one month. Try to make a conscious effort to lift up, encourage, and give to those around you for ONE MONTH.  Keep the things your heart desires in mind, but actively see how you can help others.  In One month, tell me how much has opened up for you and how much you notice just “arriving” in your life.

Most of you know my delight in transforming “trial” to “gift”. This past week gave me a great opportunity to do just that.

I had dinner with friends on Wednesday, and my phone stopped working for no reason (I blame Mercury). On the way out the door, I thought, “This would be a great time to be stuck on the side of the road (with no phone).”

Sure enough. On the way home, Cody and I were mid-laughter when a loud noise interrupted our fun. We pulled over and the tire was FLAT.

Being in the middle of nowhere on the x-way in the middle of the night with a child and without a phone or spare (stupid, I know – but I already used the extra wheel I had a couple months ago) was not an ideal situation for me. So, I did the only thing I could..drove on the rim to a public place (which just so happened to be a few miles away), so I could use their phone to call my roadside assistance. The grating noise of the rim on the road as we drove was excruciating to both my ears and heart.

So, lesson number 1: Replace spare tires immediately – because there is nothing more frustrating than driving on a rim, knowing how awful that is or having to call a tow truck for something you know how to fix.

Once we were home safe, I found that I would not be able to replace it until this week. This gave me a perfect opportunity to catch up on “at desk” work, and I was super productive with an excuse to not feel guilty about not attending social events.

So, the major Fruit of this adventure is this:

The Diaries of a Godling series website is now live! I have been working towards this for the last several years, and I’m happy to say there is a release date ( March 14) for the first book, The Promise.  Check out the website, sign up for updates,  watch the video and begin the journey (it’s a puzzle!), and reserve your copy of The Promise!

Just a little clue to you: everything I do is in layers..So, investigate everything thoroughly!

Also, here’s a heartwarming and ear wrenching gift: A bunch of us got together at Sub Rosa: The Gypsie Courtyard and sang All you Need is Love by The Beatles. As you can see, this was unrehearsed and spur of the moment.  It was tons of fun, though. We hope it fills you up with as much cheer as it did us!

And as I push to have my band ready for our March 14 debut, I received a very interesting surprise. A fan of mine has put together a street team! I hadn’t thought of it before, so I guess it’s a good thing someone else lit the fire under my butt!   She suggested I think of something nice to do with or for them, so I went ahead and created a section of my site for Street Team Members.  If you’ve appreciated and followed these writings and  want to help me spread the word about Diaries of a Godling or Sagun (my new band), you can join the street team (I am looking for captains in different areas of the globe). I hope you’ve all had a wonderful fall as we move into colder weather. I have found myself quite blessed as I settle into my new home and transition from hosting so many Sub Rosa shows into developing my own projects again with Diaries of a Godling.

I am so grateful to be in a place of realizing that I am now living the life I once dreamed of. Several years ago, I set out on a journey to find and create my dream..It’s been a treacherous and nerve wracking journey, but after sticking it out, I’m ecstatic to say I’m definitely more in alignment with my dreams, although the journey is never done. That’s what makes “being in the moment” so vital to knowing peace. In every moment we find ourselves in, we will have a new future vision of perfection – it is what drives us to continue to grow and evolve….So, we can’t really focus on “getting there”. If we continually draw joy from the future, we miss out on the present, which is what we used to dream about being! I’ve found it helps greatly to focus on what kind of person I want to be rather than what we want.

There are times during the journey that I would feel deflated, that I still get frustrated or feel I haven’t accomplished enough, but you lovers have all been so wonderful in picking me up when I need it. I’m so grateful for all of you. Thank you for taking this journey with me as you read. Thank you for your words of encouragement, art, and gifts. Thank you for letting me into your hearts and minds.

I am so honored when I inspire others to create and am floored by this video that Sarah Donahue made for me, and even more in awe of the comments people gave her to use…sneaky little monkeys!!! ( I really want to spell that “monkies”, by the way).

Sarah is an amazing and beautiful young woman who I know will find herself most successful with any creative endeavor she undertakes.

I haven’t been able to post in a while, so I wanted to make sure and catch up, so excuse me if this update has a lot of different tidbits in it.

As you may have read in some of my posts, I’m a huge fan and supporter of A Mighty Kindness, a nonprofit group in Louisville Ky that is focused in emphasizing the UNITY in community.  I was honored to attend and spin fire at their recent fall hootenanny (gathering of local  artists, farmers, businesses, organizations, etc) in Willow Park. I appeared in an interview that featured the festival for the web show “Living with the Locals”.

In an awe inspiring moment at the Fall Harvest Hootenanny (with the mascot always being an “owl”), the entire crowd found themselves blessed as a gray owl came and nested in the tree to the right of the stage.

On a stranger note, I’ll be completely green in two days. I made a deal back in July for a themed event: if over 100 people came out, I would host a following show as an Orion Slave Girl. Well, i have to make good on that promise at our Star Wars vs Star Trek event Saturday at Diamonds Pub and Billiards. ( I know, my geekidermis is showing. I can’t help it. I dig fanboys). For those of you that came out over the last year to Carly Raes to enjoy local art, music, poetry and to perform with me – I am sad to announce they have closed their doors. I will miss the great environment, people and open hearts. The last year was amazing to behold…to see people come out despite third degree burns, in the midst of city wide blackouts and ominous snowstorms, after earthquakes, and driving from other cities. Thank you. You’ve all played a big part in my growth. All of you are welcome to join us Mondays at Diamonds. Please keep in touch, keep up the writing, singing, and over all awesome being. I recently directed a psa type short film for a two day film challenge at Western Kentucky University. We had 48 hours from receiving necessary elements (a 9 iron, a character: Nate, lame college kid, a jail cell, and the line “Over a lifetime, college graduates make 1.2 million more than non-graduates.”) Cody got to deliver a rockin line and the team I worked with was awesome.

Aside from the creation activities, I’ve been focusing on some healing. I’ve been going to the chiropractor several times a week to try to continue to improve my health I’ve spent so much time in mental/spiritual learnings over the last several years, I’ve forgone dealing with my body some.  As someone who’s never really liked to “deal” with things and not wanting to be a sissy, I’ve had some injuries that were never properly dealt with ( from car accidents, extreme boffer fighting, etc).  In addition to that, I quit smoking two and a half years ago, YAY ME! It’s a great achievement, but I’ve put on a lot of weight, so I’m working on getting in shape.

So, that’s what’s been keeping me busy. Thanks for all the wonderful 2009 memories. So many beautiful souls in place to harvest and reap their rewards. I’ve met so many amazing people and am in awe over it each and every day.   I send my love to all of you.
